The sign, the seed and the soil - Eben Roux sermon- 20090920

The sign, the seed and the soil

Is 7:14

Most thought the sign is that a virgin gave birth – but the sign “Immanuel” was the sign.

The sign wasn't fulfilled with His birth – HE WAS the sign. The sign wasn't fulfilled merely by His birth. A sign is fulfilled when that to which it point's to is seen.

Luke  2:11-12

Luke  11:9&20

Jonah point's to the 3 days of Christ's death, so the Jonah sign was fulfilled in the crucifixion.

Is 8:18 → Heb 2:13 We see that Jesus spoke the words in Is.

Jesus and His sons are the sign's

Jesus is the sign that His body would be a corporate man be represented by the many membered bride and body of Christ.

Creation waits because the sign was already there, Jesus...

Creation waits for the new creation – reborn sinners who grow

People don't want to hear about Jesus any more, they've heard about Him for 2000 years, they want to SEE His body made manifest

What does Jesus say to the gentiles that wanted to SEE Him; John 12:21

If Jesus stayed on earth, how will He appear to everyone, in a one on one way – He is the prototype, if He should die there can be many sons revealing Him to others – but the Son of Man must first be glorified

Ja 5:7

God waits for the precious fruit that will come from the wheat kernel who died and bore fruit.

Don't be so eager for the second coming because God awaits the fruits of the wheat to be revealed.

Jesus was the sign that pointed to the awesomeness of the new creation.

Jesus was the amazing sign that pointed to the generations that would rule and reign with Him and take hold of their inheritance and promises.

It's a mystery we struggle to comprehend, but we must be patient, too many want to escape the great tribulation.

Many get reborn because of fear of the end times “Turn or Burn”. People must come to Christ because they're afraid of judgement, but because they love Him and want to be filled with His Spirit.

The wonder fruit will be an exact representative of Jesus

Jesus was a divine seed planted in humanity – to bear a remarkable harvest.

John 1:14

Outside of Jesus there is no abundant life.

Everything after Adam, had the curse of activated death in it.

The moment a seed begins to germinate it begins to die.

The moment a child is born, the death process begins.

But when Christ's Spirit lives in us eternal life is activated.

Adam was a living soul, but had no Spirit.

Jesus alone has eternal, godly life – through His death and resurrection

Without the resurrection there's no hope.

We can accept the crucifixion and death of Jesus, but many doubt if he truly rose from the grave, and if He truly gives us His Spirit to have eternal life.

Many who come to church, only want the hope, each Sunday, they need more hope, they don't want instructions but smooth talk to make them feal better – but eternal life is a process of growing to maturity.

Those that persevere the crucifixion will rule with Christ.

Doesn't matter what they overcome, disease, illness – but when one receives Christ's Spirit in you and in the process you begin to grow to a point to where the earthly death can't come near you any longer.

He wants to prepare Himself for the coming events, thats what Jesus wanted to do.
Jesus was a sign, but He wants to reproduce Himself, but in order to do that He needs soil to receive His seed

John 1: 11-12

Rev 19:13

His name is “the word of God” - He who believes the Word of God, to Him who receives the new wine, they will have the oil to take them through the 4 pillars of the temple, to the most Holy place.

Acts 2:42

Angels couldn't receive or reproduce this life, they are spirits, and this life had to be planted on earth in the Adamic soil. Adam is made from soil – of the earth

2 Corinthians 4:7

Ro 8:29

Man is a special creation because it can be altered to the image of Christ

Col 1:5

Heb 1

Jesus is the image of invisible God, but we won't be changed to the likeness of God, but of Christ.

Jesus came to show the image of God on earth – to show the invisible God.

The Father is invisible and beyond time and all knowing – and this is the image that Christ represented to man.

Man couldn't understand the substance and nature of God in his omnipresent and invisible form, so God showed His Spirit physicaly to show His nature in Christ. Jesus became God's image and expressed God in a physical and visible body in a language that humans could understand. That was the primary purpose.

The Father is saying ; Son You gave me Your body as a vehicle of expression that I might reveal myself and unveil my glory to the world , now You have laid the life down and given that body over to death, that out of death I might bring forth a body for You, through which You can express Yourself, and which will bear Your image in the earth.”

Now we can lay our lives down so that we can see what He looks like.

Heb 10:5

1 cor 12: 20

Many membered body, for the expression of the Christ like in humanity

Mt 13:44

Like a diamond prospector. He is after that treasure. It's not about a person finding salvation thats been bought for you. No one can buy salvation, it is a gracious gift of mercy only. His kingdom is you and I, and the treasure in us is His Sprit. But it's covered in human flesh. Jesus found that treasure and for the joy set before Him He endured the cross Heb 12:2

He paid the full price not only for the hidden treasure but the ground / earthen vessel,

He obviously has a plan there with, why would someone by dead ground without a plan?

1 Corinthians 6: 20

Your body and your soul has been purchased

Phil 3;21

He wants to change your body after He has quickened your spirit. He didn't buy our body to leave it in the grave, He will take this earthly tabernacle and change it into a glorious and eternal temple, thats what He wants to do with that earthen vessel/ soil He bought – it's not ours, it's His, He bought it.

1 Corinthians 15:1

To see the what price He paid ;

2 Corinthians 8:9

He gave EVERYTHING, for us, He sold EVERYTHING He had, so that the treasure in that field, but be revealed, uncovered, manifested, quickened,

Why did Jesus do all this, in order to plant that divine life in earth of humanity, so that we might grow up into His likeness and bear His image and share that eternal glory that He has with the Father, that we might be rich with Him, co – inheritors;

Adam is made of dust, from the soil of the earth;

John 12:24

1 Corinthians 15:45

No life in his soul, of the earth, no way to reproduce, but the last Adam was a life giving Spirit, whose life stayed in its seed, until it was buried in the earth. Jesus as the seed, is the only one with eternal life, he alone can give us life that cannot be affected by death or illness

Ephesians 1:13-14

Who is the purchased possession – that piece of soil.

But the guarantee of our inheritance on the horizon, is the Spirit, but we must grow to the inheritance, it's not just to stay with the Spirit, we can't just settle for the guarantee, we must grow to maturity in Christ so that our inheritance can be entrusted to us 1 Pet 3,4

If someone parents have died, and they become 21, the receive the testament is given to them. If the inheritance is given to them they won't still sit with and hang on to the guarantee

Many believers, are sitting at the position of being sealed by the Spirit for Jesus with His Spirit, but thats just the guarantee, He wants us to grow as King's kids to become rulers and have a more than excellent infrastructure in our mindsets. Rom 12:2

The principles with which we functioned must be replaced with others, so that there may be a new principality.

The principality won't be replaced if the principles upon which it depends isn't changed. We can do what we like, without changing the principles upon which our lifestyles are built upon.

We mustn't just be satisfied only with having the guarantee, we must grow spiritual to a new wine skin by crucifying the human flesh and ego that keeps us from victory. It's not the pastors mistakes in his messages that keeps you from growing, but your own flesh.

We want to release our inheritance with the same mindset attitude and infrastructure, if we get offended with the truth God reveals to us, then there's an attitude resisting that growth.

If a Christian can't believe that we can rule with Him in heavenly places and only believes in the fairy tales of Christian history, then they're sitting in Nineveh for the sign of Jonah.

Part of our inheritance is ruler ship, thats part of the family business, one has the benefits of being part of the common wealth of God's kingdom, He showed us through Joseph, that what the world has to offer in governments a material wealth is nothing compared to the potential we have.

The first thing thats going to make a difference in reaching out to people is if they see Christ manifest in you.

We can't get stuck on the sign/seed, but must grasp the purpose for which it was used.

We need spiritual guidance through a spiritual father, so that we grow up correctly.

A functional family lives according the principles that Jesus has given us.

Believers that are church hopping for a spiritual family mustn't just look at the pastor, but must look to see if that church is a new wine skin.

Jesus, was a sign and prototype of what He wanted to do in His corporate body.

He gave the example with the father of 12 sons and we must continue.

He was the fulfillment of the sign, as the sons who stand up today with the Holy Spirit, and grow to maturity, where they can be as Jesus showed us in His prototype – therefore we move the the most Holy place, past all the superficial barriers.

Like with John – he wasn't shown heaven only, but was shown a believer who has grown to maturity

Rev 19:10

This man had changed so much to the likeness of Christ, that John thought it was Jesus.

Like the gentiles (Greek) that wanted to see Christ – but that time was not yet come.

We are the son, for which the whole of creation waits -

We must grow spiritually into the holy of holies where we can have a face to face encounter with the living God, and have our identities changed to a prince of God, a son of God like Jacob.

WHAT DOES YOUR CHRISTIANITY LOOK LIKE?

======================================

Normally when asked this question, we're normally at first offended, we wonder "what does it have to do with you, it's between me and God".

We must examine ourselves - personal introspection

How much in our lifestyle has changed since we've become Christian

Romans 12

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We must change

He has become the sin offering for us and in return we give him our bodies as a temple for the Holy Spirit - but this means we must change, we can't go on with old habits and expect we're going to receive the benefits of the bible, we can't "trick" God and expect Him to uphold His side of the covenant.

When you look at Christians at church on Sunday - then they're wonderful, holy, deep, and such excellent models, but the tragedy is that the world is out side there, they don't see you Sunday's at Church, they don't come to church, they don't see that side of you, they only see you outside the church from Mon to Sat. So how does your Christianity look like to them, does it look like in the papers?

We see in the media how Christians are ridiculed.

Rev3:15.

* Where are you in your spirituality?

Have you gotten stuck at the rebirth process?

Where are you in your growth process – have u changed

After the fall God asks Adam a question He already knows the answer to, because He was challenging Adam to take introspection. God knew where Adam was, He wants Adam to admit Adam is outside God's will, after the fall Adam was in another place – outside God's will.

When our prayers are not being answered- we ask; “where is God” – we should ask “where are we”; Just as God asked Adam, how is your spiritual growth, what does your spiritual life look like?

Acts 3:21

21 "(JESUS) whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.”

Jesus is in heaven until His enemies become His footstool

Mt 17:10-11

10 And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"

11 Jesus answered and said to them, "Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things.

Jesus will be in heaven until restitution and restoration has been fulfilled.

Mal 4:6 (What was Elijah sent to do?)

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.

6 And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse."”

Jn 1:14,17 (What will John do?)

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Restoration work

We, the church, complete the work John began, therefore;

Rom 8:19 & 21.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” & “21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”

The restoration process is coupled to the sons and fathers (not gender based, spiritual terminology)

Elijah doesn't do the restoration work, the spirit of Elisha is to bring the sons and fathers back together so that correct leadership can be restored, but brings the church order back, to bring sons and fathers back together.

Only a father can lead a son so he can grow, so that he is functional when he matures and be a good father himself,

step father can't do this.

Unfortunately, most believers don't have an ear to hear the new, rhema word that is proceeding from the throne, because their ears are closed. The 7 (representing “completion”) churches are all asked “He who has an ear to hear, let him hear” - thus faith in the church is so weak.

Rom 10:17

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

A person who believes something – does it!

The church is passive because it doesn't really believe, like people being raised from the dead.

If the churches faith is strengthened, Then it goes over into action, any person whose faith grows goes over to action -

you start proclaiming the word, you start groups, you get involved, you aren't just glued to a chair Sundays at church, you become active, and you live for Christ.

This restoration that must begin, must begin with the church, the church is Christ’s body, so the body must be restored. We are the body of Christ on the earth, we rule in His name. Jesus will be in heaven until the restoration and restitution of all things.

There is a lack of things being in divine order,

there's a divine order intended for creation

there's a proper order intended for animal life, vegetative life and human life.

There's a proper order intended for everything, but all things are in disorder and in terrible chaos, the curse must be lifted, every enemy must be under our feet. Divine order for the universe must be restored

.All off creation is groaning and crying for the release of the curse of decay and death.

Everything depends on the body of son that are to be manifest in the earth in the perfect state of divine order, of sons and fathers, this is the order the church is supposed to be in. But for the church to grow in divine order it needs to receive the correct spiritual food. The only problem with this food is it isn't received by the mouth but by the hearing...but at the moment the body looks pathetic, the world looks at the church and sees disorder. People make jokes about the state of the church. Spiritual food comes by hearing.

Jer 51:20

20 "You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: For with you I will break the nation in pieces; With you I will destroy kingdoms;”

Tragic thing is that most Christians are blunt weapons of warfare, many believers say we don't have to do any warfare that Jesus finished with Satan on the cross, but if we look at the world, does it look like there's no evil?

Jesus has taken Satan's authority, and bound him, but what about all of Satan's followers, all the demonic forces that take children captive through the media, music,

Jn 10:10

10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Satan doesn't do inspection to see if everything is alright, he comes only to destroy. It's his nature/character – he is programmed that way.

Does the world need deliverance from demonic powers? do God's people need deliverance from demonic powers?

Those who are to be battle axes need to be sharp in their hearing of His voice;

hearing comes through to 2 areas;

1.      Obedience to Him

2.      Revelation of His word

Rebellious spirit brings deafness & there's a lot of deafness in the church

we need to sharpen our hearing

Amos 8:11

11 "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord GOD, "That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD.”

1 Samuel 3

1 Then the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.

With Eli the relationship of father and son was perverse, he didn't lead and discipline his children and when his son's wife gave birth to Ichabod, they were killed Eli died and the ark was lost.

God's order is permanent, He is in the rest position, His infrastructure is in place, He isn't going to work in a different order to the spiritual laws He has established. After Jesus Ascended He also entered the rest position.

We, The Christians must do the work because the Father and Son are in the rest, but the order is what we must establish – there for the order of sons and fathers, because the sons must rule and the fathers only can establish the sons to rule.

The written Logos word must become Rhema word before it can be of any use to you.

Ps 23

The bible is the green pasture, the waters are the living waters of the Rhema word, t

hat has the vitamins to make you grow. Without this the church has no vision, and churches are divided between each other.

What is the “ear” they talk about in revelation, that not all have this ear?

The bible talks about the ear that can hear

Ex 21:1-6. voluntary slaves ear piercing – his ear belongs to his master, his ear belongs to his master, he only listen to instructions from his master.

Ex 32:2 Aaron asks for the gold earrings from the slaves to build the false idol – how many believers/churches have golden calves – they don't hear from God because their ears belong to religious systems. They don't hear what God says but what their own churches head office decides is true. If they don't agree with their church, they go to the internet for their own answers. How many people without the Spirit, read the logos scripture, but it doesn't mean anything to them. Do Christian's no all the characters and meaning and sayings of the biblical characters more than the characters of their favourite media/shows? Who are they listening more to?

Do your ears belong to God or to a golden calve?

We must hold introspection to take account for where we are in relation to God.

Children want to believe what the parents say, but if they say conflicting behaviour in the parents actions, how can they take their words seriously?

We must look at the covenant.

We are in time, but Jesus is outside time, he is the beginning and the end;

he sees the day when people will mourn because they don't know about Him – thus Jesus calls out by His Spirit for people to make a reckoning of their lives; because He knows what will happen, that one will stay and one will be taken away.

We don't want to be the cause of our children being taken away from us and not enjoying eternal life with us, we must check to whom our ears belong, what entertains us, what makes us laugh. We don't want to go to paradise without our loves ones. What do we listen to the most? Who’s conversation do we seek the most?
